The disciplinary committee has found Pradeep Suryavanshi, senior police inspector, guilty of threatening a magistrate who was conducting probe into the alleged fake encounter case of Ramnarayan Gupta alias Lakhan Bhaiyya, an alleged Chhota Rajan gang member, in 2006. Suryavanshi was
arrested in  March.

According to a report filed by the special investigation team before the Bombay High Court, the disciplinary committee has found Suryavanshi guilty and has punished him by stopping his increment for two years.

Last July, the high court had suo moto issued notice to Suryavanshi for allegedly threatening a magistrate of the Andheri court.

The  report also stated that the commissioner of police has recommended suspension of four policemen — police inspectors Dilip Palande and Arvind Sarvankar and police sub inspectors Ganesh Harpude and Anand Patade, who are absconding.

The recommendation has been sent to the Director General of Police. If they fail to show up within a week, they will be suspended.

A charge sheet has been filed against three constables Prakash Kadam, Prakash Kokam and Sandeep Sardar for their alleged role in the fake encounter.
