Sanjay Dutt spent Wednesday, the last day before his jail term begins, at his Bandra residence with close friends and associates visiting him.
Among them were his friend and co-actor in many films Ajay Devgn, who Sanjay has requested to oversee his ongoing debut production, according to sources.
Also said to have been present was producer Rahul Aggarwal, who was one of the two producers who had applied for extension of Dutt’s surrender deadline before the Supreme Court on May 14, but the plea was denied. Aggarwal, who is producing Dutt’s next action flick Policegiri, wanted the extension for the actor as even though the film is complete, there are some aspects that require Dutt’s presence.
“Today, an actor’s job isn’t over once he finishes shooting for a film. Yes, the film is complete, but there is a lot still left to be done. We need Sanjay for the promotion of the movie which needs to begin soon,” Aggarwal said.
Aggarwal, who is also a close friend and trusted associate of Dutt, said the actor is coming to terms with the reality. “Sanjay is coping with it. The situation is very grave. He is taking it in his stride, and is trying to deal with it. But what can a man do when he has only limited time?” he said.
On reports that Dutt had taken off to Delhi three days ago to take a break from the ongoing chaos around his case in the city, Aggarwal said, “Yes, he was in Delhi just for a day.”
