As part of a series of rallies across the state, it aimed at consolidating the youth voice and combat the Yuvati Rashtravadi Congress launched by NCP MP Supriya Sule.

Earlier, Pankaja launched Raksha, an android app for women in distress, in the backdrop of the rising cases of the crimes against women. Called App Raksha, it enables women and senior citizens to save five important numbers of close contacts, which can be used during emergencies.

Pankaja said the youth are disillusioned by politics because of the poor leadership at the Centre and in Maharashtra.

She claimed that more than five lakh youth were connected during the seven rallies organised by the morcha in seven districts. However, the response to the Kurla rally, which started two hours late, was poor.

BJP’s Mumbai unit chief Ashish Shelar and party MLA Sardar Tarasingh were also present.

They criticised the state government for the poor state of affairs on all fronts. Shelar alleged that the common man still does not feel secure as the memories of the 26/11 terror attacks are still fresh.

Pankaja appealed to the gathering to support the BJP and its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi who can bring changes in the country. “The citizens of Maharashtra still remember the work done by our government between 1995 and 1999 in Maharashtra,” she said.
