Milkha Singh's biopic Bhaag Milkha Bhaag has not been moving audiences across India alone. It has left American sprint star Carl Lewis spellbound.

So moved was Lewis after watching the movie, probably with an Indian fan in the United States, that he got hold of Milkha's number and called him up on Monday night.

"Yes that's true. Lewis called me today. He saw the movie with an Indian fan and was impressed with it. He said he was moved by that fact that I went on to represent my country in such difficult circumstances. He wanted to send me a gift and asked for my postal address," Milkha told HT.

Farhan Akhtar, who portrayed the lead role of Milkha in the biopic, also posted a tweet confirming the call to the Indian sprinter from America.

'Wow!! Milkha-ji got a call from Carl Lewis today after watching @BMBThefilm,' he tweeted.

The two star athletes stars had never met nor spoken to each other before. The call left Milkha surprised.

“I don't know how he arranged my Chandigarh's number. That's really nice of him," added Milkha.
