Bansal should be sacked and prosecuted: BJP

BJP on Saturday demanded sacking of railway minister Pawan Kumar Bansal and his prosecution by the CBI after his nephew was arrested by CBI on Friday night in a case of bribery for allegedly fixing a top level position in railway board.

Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said that Bansal's statement that he had no business relationship with nephew could not be an excuse.

Prasad also accused Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi of protecting their ministers.

He further added,"New records of corruption are being broken under the UPA government."

Prasad further said that demand for the removal of the government has become more stronge after this incident.

He stressed that the railway minister be dismissed with immediate effect and sais that the Prime Minister should also resign.
