BJP uses mobile model for Modi connect

The BJP said it had used mobile connectivity to relay the speech of its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi from a rally at Rewari in Haryana on Sunday to hundreds of his supporters.

“On the launch day, more than one lakh unique mobile callers dialled 022-45014501 to hear Modi’s live speech at the ex-servicemen rally in Rewari, “said Arvind Gupta, who heads BJP’s national IT cell.

In future too, people will be able to connect to the live speeches of Modi through a common number.

Gupta said the party had also launched a unique service that will allow “any voter on any phone and any network to follow Modi and other BJP leaders on Twitter even if he or she didn’t have a data connection.”

For Modi’s rally, the party had partnered with telecom firms including ZipDial and Vivaconnect. “The BJP willl continue to use technology to connect with 100% of its constituents,” he added.

The BJP plans to use mobile phones to reach voters ahead of the Delhi assembly elections.

The party also intends to launch voter applications which will be available across iOS and Android platforms, carrying information regarding for the benefit of a voter.
