Chidambaram briefs Sonia on the search ops to trace missing Andhra CM

Home Minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday briefed Congress President Sonia Gandhi on the search operations being carried out for locating Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S R Reddy, whose chopper has been missing since morning.


He is understood to have apprised her of the operations that have not yielded any result till late evening.

Ahead of his meeting with Gandhi, Chidambaram said the aerial operations to locate Reddy were suspended due to bad
weather and fading light.

"There is no good news yet. We are keeping our fingers crossed. Our prayers are with Rajasekhara Reddy and his
family," he told reporters more than nine hours after the helicopter lost the contact with the ATC at 9:35 AM, an hour
after taking off from old Begumpet airport in Hyderabad.
