A 16-year-old Class 11 student claimed she was repeatedly raped by her classmate and three of his friends for months in northwest Delhi’s Shalimar Bagh, police said on Thursday.
The girl’s classmate, who is a juvenile and another accused - identified as Alok Srivastava - were arrested on Wednesday while efforts are on to nab the other two accused who are absconding.
“The girl, a student of a private school in Shalimar Bagh was first raped by her classmate in March. He then blackmailed her into having sexual relations with his friends by threatening to reveal the incident to others,” said a police officer.
After months of abuse, the girl finally gathered courage and revealed the incident to her family who later approached police.
The police registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual offences Act, 2012 and other relevant sections before arresting her classmate and Alok. Further investigations and efforts are being made to nab the other two accused, police said.
In another incident, a 26-year-old woman filed a case with the Mangolpuri police on Tuesday accusing two acquaintances of drugging and raping her in a Pitampura shopping mall where she works, according to police.
The incident took place on Monday evening.
The woman in her complaint stated she was preparing to leave for home after work when the accused met her and offered a cold drink laced with sedatives.
“The woman has alleged that she fell unconscious after taking the drink, following which the accused took her to a room in the mall and took turns to rape her,” a police officer said.
