Two married women have alleged that they were abducted and gang-raped by eleven people on the pretext of getting them a job in west Delhi’s Uttam Nagar, police said on Friday.
Senior police officers, however, claimed only four men were involved in the crime and said they have been arrested.
The women in their complaint filed at the Uttam Nagar police station also accused a 48-year-old woman of introducing them to some of the accused.
On the basis of the women’s complaint, a case was registered and the woman who was acting as a go-between the victims and the accused was arrested. She was identified as Raj Radha, a resident of Uttam Nagar. Police said Radha had also been arrested in the past for running a prostitution racket.
The four arrested were identified as Deepak, Aatma Ram, Pawan and Shrawan.
A police officer said the crime was reported on Thursday. According to the complaint, the victims live in different colonies in Uttam Nagar. Since they were looking for a job, somebody introduced them to Radha and she assured them help.
“On Thursday, Radha asked the two victims to meet four men at Uttam Nagar in connection with the job. They met the men who lured them to sit inside their car. They took them at a flat in Dwarka where they raped the two women.
The women claimed that the accused called their friends as well at the flat who also raped them,” said the police officer.
After a medical examination at DDU hospital, the two victims were produced before the local magistrate where their statements were recorded for further probe.
