“She left the house to use the toilet around 3.30pm. When her uncle went looking for her, he found her in a semi-naked condition, bleeding and howling in pain,” said a police officer.
The victim, who resides in the BIW slum cluster, was rushed to AIIMS trauma centre where, according to eyewitnesses, she arrived bleeding profusely and looking traumatised.
“The animal attacked my daughter with blades when she didn’t allow him to touch her,” her mother said.
The girl’s condition was serious but stable after doctors performed a life-saving surgery that took nearly three hours.
Her injuries are similar to those inflicted on a five-year-old girl, whose rape led to outrage in the city.
“There is severe damage to the anal canal,” said Dr MC Misra, chief, AIIMS trauma centre.
Ajay Chaudhary, additional CP (southeast), was unavailable for comment. The local police said 22 persons had been detained for questioning.
