Delhi’s Women and child development minister Rakhi Birla’s personal Wagon R car was allegedly attacked on Sunday evening by some unidentified persons in outer Delhi’s Mangolpuri.
Neither Rakhi nor anyone else who was inside the car at the time of the alleged attack was injured, police said. The windscreen of the minister’s car cracked after a stone that was thrown by an unidentified person hit it.

Birla was returning from a welcome ceremony held in Mangolpuri’s R-block. The incident took place at around 6 pm.
Even as nobody was hurt in the alleged attack, the police were in the process of registering a case at the Mangolpuri police station although they said they never received a formal complaint.

Another police officer said that minutes after the incident, a local resident of Mangolpuri’s R-block appeared and claimed that the stone was thrown possibly by his son who was playing in the locality with some other children.
As part of his party’s promise to follow austerity, Kejriwal has been refusing to take any security. All his six ministers have also said they will follow in their leader’s footsteps and not take personal security. Birla’s car was in a crowded area.

“I am safe. I am undeterred (by the incident) and I don’t need any security,” the 26-year-old local MLA and minister said after the incident. Rakhi’s father Bhupender Singh said, “We did not see anyone throwing any object on the car, so we have no problem.”
