According to the police, the victim was raped by the accused, one Pradeep, at central Delhi’s Buddha Garden in the year 2007. On the day of the incident, he had also allegedly clicked some objectionable pictures of hers.

“After that day, the complainant has alleged, Pradeep raped her on a usual basis before she finally approached her local police station in west Delhi two days ago,” said a police officer.

The police said that the complainant had claimed that she and Pradeep belonged to the same colony in west Delhi at the time of the alleged incident. Details pertaining to the case were forwarded to the Chanakyapuri police station on Thursday.

Pradeep had claimed that he belonged to Uttarakhand and ‘needed a friend to show him around the city.’

“She said that a few days later, the man asked her to accompany him for a job interview to south Delhi. The accused, however, took her to the Buddha Garden where he allegedly raped her after sedating her,” the officer said.

Pradeep then, allegedly, began to threaten her that he would forward the objectionable photographs to her family members if she did not comply with his demands of sexual favours. The accused even extorted money from her on the same pretext.

“She was subjected to a medical examination at a government hospital which confirmed sexual assault,” the officer said adding that they registered a case under relevant provisions of the IPC against Pradeep in response.

“We are locating the accusedwho is currently absconding,” the officer added.
