The worst of it is over for Delhiites this summer as the temperature is not expected to cross 42 degrees for the remainder of this month.
According to met department officials, the city will receive rain on almost all days of the coming week and the temperatures will remain below 40 degrees on all days.
The downside is that Delhiites will have to deal with high humidity.
On Sunday, the maximum temperature touched 40.6 degrees Celsius, a degree above normal for this time of the year.
The minimum temperature on Saturday was recorded at 37.1 degrees.
On Sunday, humidity ranged between 86% and 42%.
At Palam on Sunday, the maximum temperature was 42.2 degrees, two degrees above normal.
The area has borne the brunt of the summers this year with the mercury touching 47 degrees during the past week.
The city could see light rain on Monday.
“Monday will see a partly cloudy sky with light rains and thunderstorms in different parts of the national Capital. The maximum temperature is expected to be 40 degrees while the minimum is expected to be 29 degrees,” said a met official.
