Both houses of Parliament were adjourned till noon, soon after they had convened for the monsoon session, amid uproar over the separate Telangana state issue.

Rajya Sabha was adjourned minutes after convened, as two Telegu Desam Party (TDP) and one pro-Bodoland MP stormed the well of the House on Monday.

Lok Sabha too was adjourned with minutes to spare till noon.

This session is seen by many as crucial for the UPA government as it tries to pass a number of key legislations, including the food security bill, ahead of the 2014 general elections.

The ruling dispensation has listed 44 legislations to be passed during the August 5 to 30 session. The session offers a 16-day window to the UPA to push several long-pending bills, in both social and economic sectors.

Earlier on Monday, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had urged the Opposition to coperate and expressed hope that this would be a productive session.
