Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday amid the renewed buzz over an imminent reshuffle of the Union cabinet.

The meeting lasted for almost one-and-a-half hour but both sides were mum on what transpired between the two leaders.

The Prime Minister had repeatedly said he wanted the young leader to join the cabinet.

PM's meeting with Gandhi comes a day after Singh and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi met President Pranab Mukherjee separately.

According to Rashtrapati Bhavan sources, Rahul is also expected to meet Mukherjee in the next few days.

Meanwhile, Rahul will once again visit Punjab on October 19. This time, he is scheduled to visit Jalandhar.

Congress sources said that the reshuffle and induction could be largely from the party. There is speculation that some young faces, considered close to Rahul, like Manicka Tagore and Meenakshi Natarajan could be inducted into the council of ministers.
