Tarun Bajaj’s death came two months later than it could have, according to police who interrogated the four suspects — two of whom earlier attempted to kill kim but he was not at home when they arrived.

The earlier plan was hatched by Moni and Sahil (Pooja’s husband) along with two other accomplices. The police are now on the lookout for the latter.

“Moni’s interrogation revealed that she was the mastermind of the entire conspiracy. She was introduced to Bajaj by Pooja and during her visits at his home Moni got a fair idea about Bajaj’s sound financial condition and availability of cash at home. Hence, she hatched a robbery plan and convinced Pooja’s husband for involving himself in it,” said an investigating officer.

Pooja disclosed that she had first met Bajaj in Karol Bagh two years ago and began to regularly visit him thereafter. She later started introducing him to other girls, slowly learning of his wealth along the way.

Sunny, another suspect who was arrested, told his interrogators that he included himself in the robbery plan as his father was a debt-ridden tailor.

Both Moni and Sunny got Rs. 30,000 each as their share in the looted booty, police said.
