Shiv Sena’s Anil Desai raised the issue of rape of a woman constable in Jharkhand, and also made references to rape cases in Delhi and Maharashtra.

Referring to the infamous Delhi gang rape case, BJP’s Najma Heptulla said: “What is the fast track court doing? It’s a slow track court...I think government should take serious note of this.” She added that despite the amendments in the law, it has failed to act as a deterrent.

Deputy chairman PJ Kurein expressed concern and said: “I think the government should take a serious note of these observations.”
