Statesman editor becomes INS head

The Indian News­paper Society (INS) on Friday elected Ravindra Kumar, editor of The Statesman newspaper, as its president for the year 2013-14. Kumar, who succeeds KN Tilak Kumar of Deccan Herald and Prajavani, was chosen at the 74th annual general meeting of the society.

At the meeting in Bengaluru, Kiran B Vadodaria (Sambhaav Metro) was elected deputy president, while PV Chandran of Grihalakshmi was chosen as vice-president. Sanjay Gupta of Dainik Jagran, Varanasi, is the honorary treasurer and V Shankaran will be secretary general of the society.
