Apart from naming Gopal Kanda and Aruna Chadha, an employee of the MDLR group, former airhostess Geetika Sharma had also named another girl in her suicide note, which runs into two pages.

The note was found in her room by her family members. Sharma had alleged that Kanda had illicit relations with another girl, whom the police are now trying to trace.

“Gopal Goyal (Kanda) is a fraud. He always keeps bad intention towards girls (sic). He is a man with no shame and guilt. He always takes advantage of others. Trusting him was my biggest mistake,” Geetika wrote in her suicide note. http://www.hindustantimes.com/Images/Popup/2012/8/06-08-pg1c.jpg

Sources close to the family said that despite facing harassment for the past four years, Geetika had never shown any signs of depression.

“Her behaviour was normal on Saturday. We had dinner together, after which she went to her room. Her father was the last one to have spoken to her at 1.30am. He had simply asked her why she wasn’t sleeping,” Gaurav Sharma, the victim’s cousin, said.

“At 7.30am, her father had knocked at her door but did not get any response. We then tried to look into the room. I saw she had hung herself. We then broke open the door,” Gaurav added.

The victim’s family has alleged that Kanda had been continuously harassing Geetika, forcing her to even move to Dubai for eight months. Kanda had then used his contacts to get her sacked.

“He wrote a series of emails to her employer Emirates, questioning her character and that she had defaulted on a loan. The airline sacked her and she had to return to India,” Gaurav said.

He also alleged that Kanda desperately wanted Geetika to join his company again and when she refused, he even visited their Ashok Vihar residence.

“He told Geetika’s parents that his company needed her and he will treat her like his daughter. Her parents then allowed her to work with the group again,” Gaurav added.

But two months ago, she stopped going to work.

Geetika’s father runs a press while her mother works in the finance department of Jammu and Kashmir Bhawan. Her brother is a Mumbai-based fashion designer.

Police said they are scanning the victim’s call details to know whether Kanda had been harassing her on phone as well. They have also a kept the copy of the suicide note and roped in handwriting experts to confirm whether it was written by Deepika.
