Samajwadi Party (SP) has said that it wouldn’t touch the expelled Amar Singh even with a barge pole.

"In case he was under any illusion that the party would take him back then sooner he gets rid himself of it, the better," the party said.

The party’s statement came following the recent homecoming speculation.

The speculations originated and became strong after recent conciliatory statements.

“The party does not want to even look at him, while several spurned leaders under a conspiracy have been spreading rumors as if the Samajwadi Party was in dire need of him,” said the state spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary on Sunday.

Chaudhary said that some of the party’s adversaries who were anxious over party attaining majority in the last Assembly elections and good prospects for 2014 Lok Sabha elections were engaged in misinformation ploys against SP.

"It is extremely misleading and baseless to say that Amar Singh would return to Samajwadi Party. He has been disloyal to the party and mislead the party into taking such decisions that hurt the party badly and served his own interests. The party suffered losses and disgrace due to him. Such has been his misdeeds towards the party that it would not spare him a second chance to repeat what he did," said Chaudhary.

The SP was party that is firm on its principles and policies, while Amar Singh was the man without any principles.

He was only selfish and self-centered. He was expelled because of his anti-party activities and post-expulsion he tried to paint the party in bad light.

The attempt to damage the party went so badly against him that now he has to hide his face, said Chaudhary.

"Let there not be any misconception on this count. Samajwadi Party under no circumstances would take Amar Singh—who is a man without principles, deceiving and disloyal. People anyway do not have any faith in him," said the written statement.

The one-time confidant of SP president Mulayam Singh Yadav, Amar Singh was expelled in February 2010 along with Rampur MP Jaya Prada.
