Unable to overcome her trauma, the Class X student gangraped by five people in Noida has not stepped out of her home since the incident and has skipped her board examinations, her family members said.

"Everyone in our locality knows us and the social stigma has kept her friends at bay. Our daughter is still disturbed. She doesn't venture outside and neither do her friends visit her, which is hurting her more," said her father.

The family fears that if the accused are not convicted, they will come out and take revenge. "We were attacked a day after the case came to light. We have not been threatened after that but the (accused) family is influential and can harm us," her father explained.

The girl's father also alleged that the circle officer and station house officer had visited them on February 29 and requested them to sign a letter, saying they had no complaints against the police and no action should be taken for disclosing the girl's name and address.

"We signed it because we did not want the police to go against us. The police said if we don't sign it, many would lose jobs.  We were shocked when we got to know that the police disclosed her identity but we cannot fight with everyone; all we want is justice for our daughter," the father added.

During investigation, the police not only gave out the girl's identity and address but also contradicted her version. The police said the girl was allegedly raped on Friday evening.

The girl had alleged that she had gone to a nearby park when Rahul Arya and Himanshu, two of the accused, came to talk to her. "They blackmailed me, saying they have an MMS clip featuring me and insisted I go with them or else they will make the clip public," she had said.

Later four other boys had joined the party; they then forced her to consume alcohol and raped her, she alleged. "After raping me, they started beating me and threw me out of the car," she told the police.

But the police had dismissed her allegation and said, "The girl knew the accused and willingly went to celebrate his birthday and consumed vodka with them. She has had drinks with them in the past too. We have not come across any MMS clip so far."
