Prospective students taking the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) exam will now be able to preview their unofficial scores before deciding to report or cancel them, said the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC).

The score reporting feature is available to all test takers and will take effect at nearly 600 test centers around the world starting from June 27.

“The new score reporting feature gives test takers more certainty and control in the testing process and in how their scores are reported to schools,” said Ashok Sarathy, GMAC vice president, product management.

Test takers are given the option of reporting or cancelling their scores immediately after taking the test. They will be given two minutes to decide whether to accept the scores or not. If they fail to take a decision, then their scores will be cancelled.

“I think it is a very introduction and would be extremely beneficial to the students,” said Aditi who took her GMAT test recently.
