One army jawan killed in TNT mine blast in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar

The cantonment police have started inquiry into the incident at Mahar Regiment Center of the Indian army.

An army soldier was killed and another injured in a TNT mine blast at a firing range in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district on Friday morning.

The cantonment police have started inquiry into the incident at Mahar Regiment Center of the Indian army.

Cantonment police station officer BM Dewedi said between 8am and 9am the explosive accidentally went off when arms trainer Havaldar Bakul Kumar Patelia was planting it.

Kumar (40) died on the spot, while another jawan sustained injuries.

The TNT mine was being planted as part of a training schedule. The trainees were standing far away looking at how explosives were being planted.

The deceased is from Gujarat.

After getting information cantonment police reached the area and started investigation. A forensic team and a bomb disposal squad are also helping in the probe.

Mahar Regiment, however, did not give any official version of the incident.
