Pakistani army opens heavy fire along LoC in J-K’s Poonch

Indian army spokesperson said that Pakistan army initiated indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and mortars at 11:15 am on Wednesday.

Amid deaths of two soldiers in “accidental discharge” on the Line of Control in Poonch sector, on Wednesday, the Pakistan army opened heavy fire on Indian posts along the de-facto border in the said sector.

“Pakistan army initiated indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and mortars at 11:15 am on Indian army posts along the LoC in Poonch sector,” said an army spokesperson.

“The Indian army retaliated in equal measure. Exchange of fire stopped at around 1:30pm,” he added.
