People's Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday demanded a government job for the acid attack victim.

PDP spokesman Naeem Akhtar said the acid attack has severely jeopardised the life of the woman, who taught in a private school.

"For her rehabilitation, it was necessary that the government came forward with appropriate measures and the minimum it could do was to provide an appropriate job to the victim," said Akhtar.

The PDP has already announced to bear the medical expenses of the acid attack victim, who was injured on Wednesday this week when a man threw acid on her face. Her one eye is damaged in the attack besides the burn injuries on the face.

He said in view of the fact that the woman might lose vision in one eye, her disability would entitle her for a preferential treatment in getting a government job. But in view of the devastating incident she faced, it would be necessary to provide her a job out of the way, he added.

Meanwhile, according to the spokesman, the party president Mehbooba Mufti on Friday visited the two boys in SkIMS hospital who had been seriously injured in Pulwama shooting incident recently.
