Police officer shot dead by militants in J-K’s Tral

The militants fired at SPO Abdul Haleem Kohli at his residence in Gutroo village of Tral.
A police officer of Jammu and Kashmir was shot dead by militants at his residence in Tral in south Kashmir on Wednesday, officials said.
Abdul Haleem Kohli, a special police officer (SPO) from Gutroo area of Tral, was fired upon by militants from a close range, a police spokesman based in Srinagar said.

Police said Kohli, who died on the spot, was a resident of Gutroo and was currently posted at Aripal tehsil in Tral subdivision.
“Investigation is on and a manhunt has been launched to nab the assailants,” said the spokesman.
