Police tell court IM had plans to attack Delhi, Jaipur and Jodhpur

Indian Mujahideen (IM) operation chief Tehsin Akhtar had plans to attack Delhi, Jaipur and Jodhpur during March, the Special Cell of the Delhi Police have told a Delhi court.
In their remand papers seeking Tehsin's custody, the police also told the court of additional sessions judge Daya Prakash that the interrogation of previously arrested IM operative Zia-ur-Rehman alias Waqas had helped them unearth the outfits plan's to carry out terror attacks in the three cities.
The police also claimed Waqas told them he and Tehsin had visited Jaipur and Jodhpur and taught three other members of the IM –-- Saqib, Maroof and Mohd Waqar Azhar --- how to use explosives and other weapons.
On March 22, Waqas had planned to meet the three operatives and assign to them, on Tehsin's directions, the task to carry out terrorist activities in Delhi, the court was told.
The trio had revealed that after the arrest of IM co-founder Yasin Bhatkal, Tehsin had been elevated to the status of the chief operative.
Tehsin was arrested in Darjeeling, West Bengal and brought to Delhi in connection with the Jama Masjid shootout case, in which he is a suspect.
