The Kerala government on Friday ordered a probe into the circumstances that led to the arrest of direct marketing company Amway India’s CEO and US national William Scott Pinckney and two other senior officers of the company.

State home minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan asked south zone additional DGP Shankar Reddy to conduct an investigation into the allegations that the crime branch had showed “undue haste” in making the arrests. “It seems some officials have shown haste in arresting them in cases registered years ago. I have asked the ADGP to conduct an inquiry and submit a report at the earliest,” the minister said.
