A decision to this effect was taken by the high court bench headed by acting chief justice Dilip P Bhosale, who expressed anger over the revolt of the judges in violation of the code of conduct for judges.

The suspension triggered protests from Telangana judicial officers and advocates who attempted to stage a dharna in front of the court in the afternoon. “This is a serious issue. The judges have not violated any code of conduct but were only highlighting the injustice caused to Telangana over allocation of judges as per the provisional list. They were only asking to rectify the anomalies,” Telangana advocates joint action committee convenor, A Sriranga Rao, told HT.

He said the High Court Bar Association and the Telangana Judges Association called for an emergency meeting of the judges and advocates in the evening to chalk out their future course of action.

“We feel we are working under the high court of Andhra Pradesh and not under the high court of both states,’’ protesting judges said, adding they would not approach the high court for redressal on the judicial side “as a majority in the high court has biased attitude towards our issue. We cannot work under Andhra judicial rulers, in future”.
