‘Proud moment for Indians’: Twitter reacts to PM Modi’s address to US Congress

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday addressed the joint session of the US Congress. In his speech, Modi pushed for deeper ties with the US, describing it as an “indispensable partner”, even as he called for isolating countries that harbour and sponsor terror groups like the Lashkar-e-Taiba and the Islamic State.

Top US lawmakers lauded Modi’s address, describing it as “insightful”.

Congressmen and Senators from both the Republican and Democratic parties gave a standing ovation to the Prime Minister several times during his address.

A number of them also queued up to get his autograph after Modi came into the well of the House.

Twitter also hailed PM Modi’s address. While some described it as the “ best speeches from an Indian politicians”, others said it was a “proud moment for all Indians”. Below are some of the reactions:
