The father of the 18-year-old animation student, who was allegedly molested by three seniors at the college hostel in Noida, on Saturday confirmed that his son would no longer pursue his studies from the institute. At present, the victim is living with his parents in Karnal.

“My son is barely 18. The incident has left him traumatized. So, we have decided not to send our ward back to the city where he was tortured,” said his father.
The victim had come to Noida in October 2013 to pursue a diploma in animation, along with a BSc degree, from the Asian School of Graphics & Animation, a unit of Marwah Studios.
His father criticised the college management for allegedly not taking immediate action against the culprits.

“I am ready for the legal battle and ensure that my son gets justice. I am disheartened with the college administration’s attitude, which is calling it a fight between friends. This is a serious issue and could have cost my son’s life,” said his father.
The victim’s family have demanded a scanned copy of the rustication order of the accused from the institute.
“On Friday, I called up the institute’s management and asked the official concerned to email to me the scanned copy of my seniors’ rustication order. But there is no word from their side since then. I doubt the institute’s intention. It seems the institute is shying away from its responsibility and does not want to ensure students’ welfare,” said the victim.
The Noida police have sent three teams — one each to Gorakhpur, Jalandhar and Roorkee to nab the culprits — but no one has been arrested till late Saturday evening.
“Our teams are conducting raids in the three towns. We have informed the parents of the three accused about the issue. We are grilling their friends and trying to track their movement using electronic surveillance,” said Shivram Yadav, deputy superintendent of police (DSP).
Police officials are also interrogating the college administration, hostel authorities and the victim’s class-mates living in the hostel to find the sequence of events that led to the incident.
According to the police, the seniors ragged and molested the first-year student on April 15.
They had threatened to upload a video of the incident on the internet.
The incident came to light when the student and his family approached the police. He alleged that the accused had even demanded Rs. 5,000 from him for not making the MMS public. He told the police that the accused had even tried to sexually assault him.
