With its newest rival Aam Aadmi Party spreading its wings across the country, Rahul Gandhi wants the Congress to take its consultation with common people for the party’s 2014 manifesto in various cities.

For the first time, the Congress has decided to seek suggestions from stake-holders before finalising its poll-promises for the tough mega-battle.

After holding two consultations in Delhi with minorities, Dalits and Tribals, the Congress vice-president has decided to hold the next meeting in Bangalore. The city that attracts thousands of young talents every year in technology-related jobs will host the party’s meet with students and young entrepreneurs to seek their feedback on the upcoming Congress manifesto.

The meeting with women groups has also been moved out of Delhi to Bhopal while consultation with industrial lobbies may take place in Mumbai.

Nandan Nilekani, the chief of the unique identity scheme or ‘Aadhar’ project, is also likely to be present in the meeting on January 11. Nilekani is seen as a probable Congress candidate from the posh South Bangalore seat.
