A four-member team of the Jaipur Police will reach Kerala on Monday to seek the custody of convicted rapist Bitihotra ‘Bitti’ Mohanty, son of former Odisha DGP BB Mohanty.

“The team will try to get him back as soon as possible,” Jaipur ACP Biju George Joseph said on Sunday.

Bitti, who had jumped parole in 2006 while serving a prison term in Rajasthan for raping a German tourist and lived as Raghav Raj for more than six years, spent a sullen day at Payyanur sub-jail in northern Kerala’s Kannur city.

“He was disturbed and largely silent and kept repeating that his father had not helped him construct his new life as a bank employee,” a senior Kerala Police officer said.
