Locals alleged that Surendra Singh, son of minister Hem Singh Bhadana, and his three friends rode into the Shalimar Colony locality on a motorcycle late on Tuesday evening where they misbehaved with the daughter and daughter-in-law of one Ajay Kumar Jain.

The three others identified in the first information report are Sumot, Monto and Neeraj. Alwar Police refused to confirm Surendra’s involvement.

Police arrested one of the suspects and, fearing Bhadana’s son may be let off, residents met Alwar police superintendent to demand his arrest.

The incident happened around 9pm and the women raised alarm after which around 40-50 residents gathered. The group ran into flat no G 308, which turned out to be in the name of the minister’s wife, but locals insisted they come out. They tried to flee by climbing down a drain pipe at the back of the house when police arrived. While three of them escaped, Neeraj hurt his foot and was apprehended.

Later, it also turned out that the minister had not declared the flat in his election affidavit.

The people complained that the men would often create ruckus in the area inebriated.

Karan Singh, the station house officer of Sadar Thana where the case for outraging the women’s modesty was registered, said Surendra Singh’s involvement could be confirmed only after he is detained.
