Rajasthan police on Tuesday arrested the mastermind behind the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) competition examination paper leak from Bihar.

In a joint operation Special Operation Group (SOG) of Rajasthan police along with Bihar police arrested the accuse identified as RK Singh (50) alias Mithlesh aka Verma from Chandi area of Bhojpur district of Bihar at around 10.30am on Tuesday.  He will be brought to Jaipur on Tuesday night by SOG team.

A senior SOG official told HT that Verma’s name cropped up during interrogation of a member of his gang Amrit Meena and others who were arrested earlier this month by the SOG. Verma who was active in Bihar and Delhi besides Rajasthan, had been providing papers of various competitive exams to Meena and others.

He said a team of SOG was camping in Bihar since last 15 days and was looking for Verma in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Later he was traced in Bihar and was nabbed today. “The state police had arrested Verma in 2011 in a cheating case. Promising providing paper of Ayurved medical officer exam he had taken money from applicants and called them to Mahipalpur in Delhi but did not give them paper. The applicants registered a complaint,” said the officer.

The accuse who is resident of Bihar and presently residing in Dwarka area of Delhi is also suspected of leaking papers of competitive examinations conducted by other bodies in different parts of the country, and more information is expected to be revealed during Singh's interrogation.

The official said in probe with Verma it would be clear how the RPSC exam papers were leaked—was it from the printing press or someone from inside was involved.

The SOG had recently summoned the RPSC Chairman Habib Khan Goran to Jaipur for verification of some facts which the investigating agency collected during the course of probe.

The gang was busted earlier this month by the SOG which arrested eight of its members including Meena, a government lecture who headed the racket in the state and had leaked paper of RAS Prelims 2013 held in October last year. A detailed analysis of the results found that most of the candidates securing positions in top 50 were from one community and from a certain place. RPSC has already cancelled the examination.
