Raman Singh on Sunday took oath as the new Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh after his party had a landslide victory in the assembly polls.
He took the oath of office and secrecy from state Governor Lieutenant General KM Seth in a ceremony here in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani and other senior leaders.
Raman, who was appointed state BJP president ahead of assembly elections and steered the party to victory, was the only one to take the oath on Sunday.
He took the oath in Hindi at a function in police parade ground here.
Apart from Advani, BJP president Venkaiah Naidu and general secretary Pramod Mahajan, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Ramesh Bais, Sushma Swaraj, Sahib Singh Verma, were among the other dignitaries present on the occasion.
