Uttarkhand director general of police BS Sidhu on Wednesday warned yoga guru Ramdev of legal action if anything happened to the 450 children he has taken to a yoga camp high up in the Himalayas after ignoring rain warnings by the state government.

"Kids were taken (on Tuesday) to Gangotri-Gaumukh despite the advisories issued by the weather department and the state government The person who took them there will be held responsible if anything untoward happens to them," Sidhu said, without naming Ramdev.

The 450 children study at Ramdev's Patanjali Yog Peeth. About 150 of were taken to Gaumukh, which is located in the most difficult part of Gangorti-Gaumukh area.

Chief minister Harish Rawat evaded a direct reply. Instead, taking a dig at Ramdev, he said, "Being human, I have my own limitations, but he has divine links."

It was learnt that the yoga guru had not informed the administration about the trek.
