9 dead, 24 injured in four incidents across Jharkhand

Nine people, including three Jharkhand Armed Police (JAP) jawans, were killed and more than 24 people injured in four different incidents in the state on Saturday.

In the first incident, three JAP jawans were killed after the vehicle they were travelling collided with a heavy vehicle on the Patna-Ranchi highway near Jamkhundi village in Koderma district.

According to police, seven JAP-7 jawans were returning from Bhaktiyarpur in Bihar after attending a colleague’s wedding. A speeding vehicle while trying to overtake another vehicle collided with their SUV. Three jawans died at the spot while four others were rushed to a local hospital for medical attention.

In another incident, a bus carrying villagers of Dalwar in Godda district overturned near Jogni Mandir. Four persons died and over 12 sustained serious as well as minor injuries. The four deceased have been identified as Bumbum Kuwar, Hiralal Kuwar, Munna Kuwar, and Viidesh Kuwar.
In two other incidents in Ramgarh and Ranchi, a person drowned in Bhairavi river and a youth died near Jhumar Pul after a tree fell on him.
