Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) supremo Sibu Soren said on Saturday he was not going to retire early from politics. “Who says I am going to retire from politics? I have to contest more and more elections in the future,” he added.

It must be noted here that chief minister and Sibu’s son Hemant Soren has been asking for support for his father, claiming that it was the JMM patriarch’s last election. Two days ago while addressing party workers in Masalia block, Hemant had appealed them to ensure Sibu’s victory in his last election.

Sources said Guruji would file his nomination on March 31 from the Dumka Lok Sabha seat. When asked about resignation by two JMM MLAs — Hemlal Murmu and Bidyut Baran Mahato — Sibu, who was on his way to Kundhit in Jamtara district, said he was not worried about it.

Ailing Jharkhand prisoner kept in police station

Delay in treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has forced an undertrial prisoner from Jharkhand’s Saraikela Jail, arrested for alleged involvement in Maoist activities, to stay in unhygienic conditions on the verandah of the Hauz Khas police station in south Delhi for the past 10 days, his family members have alleged.
