Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) patriarch Lal Krishna Advani on Sunday reiterated that Narendra Modi is one of the best prime ministerial candidates in the country.

“BJP will make history this election by securing far more than 182 seats, the maximum the party has secured till date,” Advani said.

The deputy prime minister during Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s government went on to say that the BJP’s next government under Modi will perform even better than the Vajpayee government.

“We will whitewash Congress and perform even better than what we did during our last term,” Advani said.

He took a dig at Congress calling it the party which has scored maximum number of zero votes in the history of elections in India. He said that the Congress has dug its own grave by treading the path of corruption and made winning easier for the BJP.

“Congress has scored maximum zeroes in the history of election in India,” he said.

The former home minister was in the state capital on Sunday to release a book. One of the stalwarts of the saffron brigade, Advani, who was earlier apprehensive about Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi’s anointment as the prime minister candidate, on Sunday showed confidence in Modi saying that the Congress will fail to bag even 100 seats this election.

“While, the BJP will break all records, Congress will not be able to bag even 100 seats,” he said. Speaking on the Telangana issue, he further slammed the Congress for creating unnecessary disputes and nuisance during the partition of Andhra Pradesh.
