They also confirmed the recovery of arms and ammunition during a search operation held on Thursday.
The police recovered a looted police rifle and many rounds of unused bullets during the arrest of Maoists in Palamu district in Jharkhand.
“We have recovered a 303 rifle which was looted from police personnel, along with 77 rounds of bullets,” said superintendent of police YS Ramesh.
Over 48,000 security personnel were on high alert to ensure safe and peaceful poling in Jharkhand.
Jharkhand is an extremist-hit state and Maoists are active in several districts.
