The class 12 student of an up-market school in Gurgaon, who had accused her father for sexually abusing her for three years, has changed her statement before the court. She said she had done it in a fit of rage after her father slapped her.

The police had filed a two-page chargesheet against her father on April 15. He was arrested the same day and was lodged in Bhondsi Jail the next day before he filed a bail petition at a Gurgaon court.

The girl in her complaint had alleged that her father would take her out of town to places such as Haridwar and Bhopal and rape her. He would ensure that his wife and two younger children didn’t accompany him.

On the night of April 14, he was to board a flight to Dubai with her. But the girl, anticipating that she would be raped once again, confided in her school principal.

The 45-year-old accused is an exporter and a resident of a high-rise condominium on the Golf Course road.

According to sources, the girl had reversed her statement three days after she leveled rape allegations against her father.

Gurgaon joint commissioner of police, Maheshwar Dayal, said the case will be taken up by the police department rigorously.
