200 students participate in bicycle rally

UT department of environment in collaboration with non-governmental organisation (NGO), Youth Innovative Society, organised bicycle rally here on Thursday.

UT secretary, environment and forests, BS Bhalla, flagged off the rally from Sukhna Lake Club parking area at 8am.

Nearly 200 students from NSS units of city schools, Chandigarh Amateur Cycling Association, participated in the event. The aim of the rally was to spread the message to promote cycling in the city.

Santosh Kumar, conservator of forest; Kuldeep, deputy conservator of forest; SK Setia, joint secretary and other senior officers of the administration participated in the event. The function was attended by various teachers, students, NSS volunteers and residents of the city. On the occasion, Bhalla urged the students to convey the message of Swachh Bharat to various parts of the city.
