The chances of Rawalpindi Express Shoaib Akhtar meeting Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt in the latter's prison cell in Pune appear remote as jail authorities are reportedly not keen on facilitating the visit.
Reacting to reports that the Pakistani bowler, who is said to be an ardent fan of the actor, wanted to visit him, a top official said the Yerawada jail administration was not inclined to organising such a meeting.
The official said jail administration saw no justification of such a visit.
However, a technical reason likely to be cited for denial of permission to the member of the touring Pakistan cricket team, would be that Dutt, convicted by a TADA court for illegal possession of arms in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case, has already completed his monthly quota of visitors who included his sister and lawyers.
Meanwhile, the weekend at the jail was marked by an hour-long meditation session held by Art of Living guru Sri Sri Ravishankar, which was attended by over 2,500 convicts lodged there, sans Sanjay Dutt.
Dutt was kept away from the 'Pranayam' and 'Dhyaan' session in keeping with the prison norm to avoid high profile inmates getting mixed with other categories of convicts, sources said.
The Munnabhai of celluloid, however, had a brief interaction with the guru when he was being taken around the prison.
Dutt's appeal for bail is expected to be heard in the Supreme Court in the last week of the month.
