Nine inmates of a government girls' hostel who ran away two days ago were brought back by the police.
The girls reportedly wished to return home as they were allegedly fed up with their confinement in the hostel and did not feel comfortable there.
On Monday night, they jumped off the roof of the hostel and reached the bus stand to board a bus for their respective native places but were intercepted by the police and brought back.
Two of the girls had fractured their limbs while jumping off the roof.
Following the incident, the hostel management said the girls would be sent back to their home.
The girls were selected for the summer special course, who were unwilling to stay in the hostel.
Sources, however, said inmates of the hostel were unhappy over the gross mismanagement and lack of essential arrangements in the hostel.
