Sixteen fresh cases of swine flu reported across country

Sixteen more cases of swine flu were reported across the country on Tuesday taking the total number of cases to 574.


While Delhi reported three cases, Pune had six, two cases each in Mumbai, Chennai and Gurgaon and one in Trivandrum. The three cases in Delhi are a 22-year-old man who travelled from Hong Kong to Delhi transiting Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.

The second case is an 18-year old boy who travelled from Singapore to New Delhi reaching Delhi and the third case is a 25-year old man, who travelled from Toronto Amsterdam reaching Delhi. Of the six cases reported in Pune, three are school children who are contacts of positive cases reported earlier.

Another indigenous case is a 20-year old boy, indigenous case who were in contact with foreign nationals who visited Pune. The remaining two have travelled abroad.

These cases are 27-year old man who has travelled from Houston USA to Mumbai. The second case is a 16-year old boy, who travelled from Singapore to Mumbai reaching Mumbai. The lone case reported from Trivandrum is a 39-year old man who travelled from UAE to Trivandrum.

In Gurgaon, the two cases reported are 41-year old woman and her eight old girl, who travelled from USA to New Delhi. All the contacts of the girl child who expired yesterday at Pune are healthy and remain asymptomatic.
