A consultant for solid waste management has already been appointed for Hisar and the system is likely to be set up next year. This was disclosed by deputy commissioner Amit Kumar Aggarwal, who also is commissioner, Hisar municipal corporation, while talking to newspersons here on Saturday.
Aggarwal said, "The bus stand and civil hospital will be shifted to another place. A senior citizens' club and community centre will be added to the museum to be set up in the town."
He said that a bio-metric attendance device had been introduced for sanitation employees and GPS equipment fitted to the vehicles. The e-disha kendra of the town would start functioning from August 15."
Speaking on the occasion superintendent police Satheesh B Balan said, "On the pattern of Kerala the police wings manned by young boys would be set up in educational institutions of Haryana also. The young boys in uniform would help the cops in managing the traffic, holding the functions and helping the administration in exigencies." For issuing driving licences, written and practical tests would be conducted, he said, adding, the road safety knowledge centre recently set up in Hisar would impart theoretical and practical training to the applicants.
