A fight over watching TV cost another life — this time in J&K — on Monday. The incident took place on Thursday in Kupwara district’s Kawri village.

Latief Ahmad Khan wanted his mother Reshma Jan to turn off all electronic devices at their home as he was watching television and the low voltage was interfering with the reception, said Tariq Ahmed, station house officer, Trehgam.

“Following an argument, Khan pushed her and she hit her head against the wall,” Ahmed said. After battling for life for two days, Reshma died at Srinagar’s Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences. Khan has been arrested and a case has been lodged against him, the officer added.

Earlier this month, a couple had been jailed in Ranchi after they were found guilty of killing their daughter following an argument over watching TV.
