Under the social security scheme, pension cases of 10,900 people have been approved by the present state government since it came to power. Chief parliamentary secretary Inder Dutt Lakhanpal said this while addressing a public meeting at Mahre town on Sunday.

He said under social welfare programme, a sum of Rs 1,371 crore was being spent in the state during 2013-14 that was 34% of the total plan. It showed how much the Congress government was aware of the well-being of the poor.

Lakhanpal said 0the main aim of the state government was to help the poor, to make them stand on their feet and for this a number of schemes had been framed for them. He said all parts of the Badsar assembly segment would be developed so that no area was ignored.
