'State steeped in lawlessness'

The second phase of the Indian National Lok Dal's (INLD) 'janjagran abhiyan' (awareness campaign) has kicked off from Dabwali in Sirsa district on Saturday.

The party accused the Haryana government of lopsided development, nepotism and creating lawlessness in the state.

"Haryana that was known for its prosperity is now known for lawlessness," Ellenabad legislator Abhey Chautala said while addressing the rally that saw a healthy participation in spite of rain.

On the on the uneven development in the state, he said: "I am not the only one to blame the government for lopsided development. A section of leaders in the Congress are echoing the same views."

"Bureaucrats are busy minting money for moving files, while leaders are making money by selling land to builders at cheap rates, the INLD leader alleged.

On the jail term to INLD chief Om Prakash Chautala and his MLA son Ajay, Abhey said leaders were implicated in a false case and everything was done under a conspiracy.

INLD state president Ashok Arora said that in the next two months, senior party leaders would expose the reality of the Congress government before people.

The campaign's first phase was held in February, a few days after the party chief and Ajay were convicted in the JBT teachers' recruitment scam case.
